JML Construction Roofing Siding and More

JML Construction did my roof and siding job on my house. When I was looking for someone online, I choose them because of their reviews other homeowners gave them. And I must say they were not only right, but JML Construction blew MY expectations away. From the start, always there to help with any questions I had, samples or colors. Amazing job is an understatement for these guys, they were so hard working, knowledgeable about their work and EXTREMELY detailed. For example, there was an issue with the siding that came from the factory, it had tiny imperfections. I truly I did not see it, but they did. They went through EVERY single piece and contacted the factory to replace the defected ones. They did absolutely amazing job on my house, and I am so happy I choose them to do it. If you are homeowner and looking for a company, this is the company you want to call. I know through this pandemic they are very busy, but they are so worth the wait. Not only I HIGHLY recommend them but after seeing how amazing they are I will be using them for other projects in the near future.

I had a leaky roof late last season and called 3 companies for an estimate. One company came and never gave me an estimate. One came and offered to put a metal roof over my existing roof. When Jimmy came he was first of all, the only one who actually went up on the roof. He explained although I could put a metal roof over this one, it would be unwise. The roof needed additional support and he gave me a thorough and professional estimate for a ripoff, including adding new rafters to my existing ones where it was needed and a full shingle job including all the materials for only a little more than the metal roofer wanted to just go over what was already there. It was late in the season and Jimmy came and gave me a temporary patch job no charge to get me through to the spring season. I was contacted prompt this spring and work was started and completed, weather permitting in about a week. They did a wonderful wonderful job. The team was professional, polite, skilled and totally cleaned up at the end of each day. They knew what they were doing and arrived promptly and put in full workdays even on some pretty cold mornings. The roof looks really great inside and out. They were thoughtful and if an unanticipated problem arose, for example a flat roof was extremely wet and need additional framing and they just took it in stride. I would totally recommend this company. The pic do not really capture the beauty they brought to this old house but I have added some. Great team! Thanks guys.

Jim and his team did a lot of high-quality work on my home. I hired him for multiple projects, and for a long time things went very well — his craftsmanship is excellent and his attention to detail really shows. I was planning to have him continue helping with other parts of my property. Unfortunately, toward the end of the contract things changed. When it came time to work on my garage, I had several valuable vintage cars stored inside. Because I live on a busy road, I couldn’t safely move all of them immediately. Instead of working through that challenge with me, communication broke down, and both he and his crew became increasingly short-tempered and displayed micro aggression toward me and my family. At that point, I decided I didn’t feel comfortable continuing the relationship. I offered to settle up and hire someone else to finish the remaining work. During that period, there were multiple delays and reschedules because of staffing issues. A week later, he and a family member came to my home unannounced and acted in a threatening manner. With Jim ultimately threatening to harm me if I didn’t pay him. Thankfully, I was able to de-escalate the situation against my own will, pay what was owed, and end the project — but the experience left a very negative impression. While I don’t want to take away from the quality of his craftsmanship, I can’t overlook the way things ended. The job was left incomplete after payment, and the level of aggression toward my family was unacceptable. I’m not calling him a racist, but as a Black homeowner I can’t ignore how differently I felt treated compared to what I’ve read in other reviews. I hope this was just a bad experience for both sides, but it’s important for potential clients to know what happened so they can make an informed decision.

My shingles were over 30 years old. JML took two layers off the garage and added new boards, and removed 1 layer from the 2 story house and were finished in 2 days! It’s amazing how fast it went.

Over this past summer I contracted with JML Construction to install a new roof on my house, and also to replace some plywood under the vinyl siding in a few spots that were rotten. When the owner, Jimmy came to my house to assess the job and to gather info for an estimate he took the time to answer all my questions. Jimmy took the time to explain what the job would involve, the contract was detailed and comprehensive, it listed exactly what materials would be used and all work to be accomplished. Soon after Jimmy and his crew started working on my house it was clear that much of the plywood under the roofing shingles was in bad condition, the same can be said for much of the plywood under the vinyl siding. What was supposed to be a one week job turned into a complete renovation of my house. Jimmy and his outstanding crew installed a new roof on my house and garage, they replaced 60 sheets of plywood, installed 20 new windows, 3 new doors, and put up a high quality vinyl siding on the entire house. Jimmy, and his entire crew were professional, friendly, highly talented and very easy to deal with. They all went above and beyond what was required and contracted for, they even installed 5 new exterior lights around the doors of my house that I had on hand. In addition to all of the above work, Jimmy and his crew replaced rotten sill plates and rim joists in a few places. They also were meticulous in the clean up as the job progressed and when it was completed. My house now looks like a newly built house, that's not an exaggeration. I couldn't be happier with the work performed by JML Construction, if I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would.

Jimmy came out to my house to do an initial look over on my roof and siding and was thorough with explaining all the big and little details that go with a big project like I had. He told me that he would send over an estimate in a few days and the estimate was fair and descriptive which I love because other estimates from other construction companies were so vague. Jimmy and his-crew were respectful, they kept the area clean and cleaned up the whole yard every night before they left for night, Jimmy was always happy and available to discuss options and issues that I had and was easy to deal with the whole ordeal. I especially enjoyed the way he was so meticulous and driven while upgrading my house and it turned out beautiful. I am beyond thankful for the excellent work that Jimmy and his guys did for me and I will recommend him to anyone that would like a Construction Company that is a high quality, attention to detail and a fair price company.
